Day (01) - Cairo
Arrive Cairo international airport, upon arrival you will be met by Kimidar Tours representative and transferred to your chosen hotel.
Day (02) - Cairo
This morning explore one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Giza, and the nearby mysterious Sphinx carved from a single block of limestone. Continue to visit the fabulous Egyptian Museum, home to priceless antiquities; including statues, reliefs, sarcophagi, and the King Tutankhamun’s treasures discovered in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor by Howard Carter in 1922
Day (03) - Cairo
Early morning departure to visit to Tel Basta, (100 kms north-east of Cairo) where Jesus caused a water spring to well up from the ground, and his presence caused the idols to collapse, as foretold by the old prophets.
Day (04) - Cairo
This morning we head to visit Mostorod (10 kms from Cairo) where the Holy Family made their way from the Sinai to, they reached Mostorod, some 10 kms from Cairo. This area was called “Al-Mahamma which means “the Bathing Place. This name was given to the town because here the Virgin Mary bathed the Christ Child and washed his clothes. On their way back to Palestine, the Holy Family stopped once more at Mostorod and, this time were the reason behind a spring to stream from the earth, which still flows forth to the present day.
Day (05) - Cairo
Today we continue our visit to Meniet Samannoud where The Holy Family made their way to reach the small township where there is a granite depression. According to local belief, it was used by the Virgin for kneading dough, and a water-well hallowed by the Christ child. Continue on to Sahka Town,which has the Coptic name of 'Pekha -Issous' meaning, “the Foot of Jesus”. It is said that here the Holy Child's footprint was marked in bas-relief on a rock.
Day (06) - Cairo
Early morning start to visit the monasteries of Wadi El Natroun (100 kms from Cairo). This area witnessed, during the earliest decades of Christianity, the construction of many monasteries in spiritual commemoration of the Holy Family's passage through the Valley.
Day (07) - Cairo
The Holy Family continues their Journey to Matariyah and Ain Shams. In Matariyah to this day a tree still stands, called "Mary Tree", under which the family is believed to have rested, and where, baby Jesus caused water to flow from a spring. Proceed to fascinating Old Cairo, to inspect the church of Abu Serga “St Sergius” that was built above a cave, which the Holy Family used as a shelter.
Day (08) - Cairo
The Holy Family continued their trip to Maadi (one of Cairo suburb), where they boarded a sailing boat heading towards southern Egypt. An historic church was built upon the spot from which they embarked, also dedicated to the Virgin, with stone steps leading down to the river's bank.
Day (09) - Cairo - El Minya
Early morning we head to El Minya, following the path of the Holy Family where you will come across the monasteries of Arganos and the monasteries of the Virgin now stands at Gabal El-Tair, also called Gabal El-Kaf “Palm Mountain, where it is believed that Jesus stretched his little hand to hold back a rock which was about to detach itself from the mountain-side and fall upon them. The imprint of his palm is still visible. Continue driving to El Minya to visit a miraculous tree that bowed to worship the Christ child as he was passing. They call the tree Al Abed "The Worshipper". Overnight in El Minya.
Day (10) - EL Minya - Assuit - Cairo
It was here at the very spot where Al-Muharraq Monastery stands that the Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said "Arise, and take the young Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for they are dead which sought the young Child's life". (Matthew 2:20, 21). Drive back to Cairo and overnight.
Day (11) - Cairo - Alexandria
Early morning drive to Alexandria, visit the Alexandria National Museum, contains about 1,800 artefacts that describes the history of Alexandria throughout the Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and Modern era. We continue our visit to the well preserved Roman Theatre. The Pompey Pillar is located on Alexandria ancient acropolis, and was originally part of the temple Colonnade. Visit the Catacombs known as Kom Al Shuqafa, merge both Roman, Greek and Egyptian cultural points. The catacomb probably served as a funerary chapel. Continue to visit the fort of Qaitbay was established in 1477. The Fort was built by the ruins of Alexandria lighthouse and its location offer a marvellous view of Alexandria. Continue to visit the church reputedly was established by St. Mark the Evangelist who brought Christianity to Egypt. The current church is built on the remains of an earlier church and is in the basilicas style. The church has a large hall that leads to the 11th century cemetery of Coptic archbishops. Return to Cairo.
Day (12) - Cairo St. Catherine
Early morning drive to St. Catherine and overnight.
Day (13) - St. Catherine Cairo
Early morning climb Mt. Mousa. Mt. Moses this peak is traditionally considered to be biblical place where Moses communicated with God and received the Ten Commandments. After watching the sunrise. Walk down to St. Catherine's Monastery. Located at the foot of Mt. Moses, St. Catherine's Monastery was constructed by order of the Emperor Justinian between 527 and 565. It is built around what is thought to be Moses' Burning Bush, which has a Chapel built atop it. St. Catherine's has a rich history indeed. It has been called the oldest working Christian monastery and the smallest diocese in the world. The Chapel of the Burning Bush was originally ordered built by Empress Helen, the mother of Constantine the Great, but the monastery itself was actually built by Emperor Justinian to protect the monks in the region and to honour the site of the Burning Bush. Return to Cairo and overnight
