Day (01) - Cairo
Arrive Cairo international airport, upon arrival you will be met by Kimidar Tours representative and transferred to your chosen hotel.
Day (02) - Cairo Pyramids and Sphinx
This morning explore one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Giza, and the nearby mysterious Sphinx carved from a single block of limestone.
Day (03) - Cairo Egyptian Museum
This morning visit the fabulous Egyptian Museum, home to priceless antiquities; including statues, reliefs, sarcophagi, and the King Tutankhamun’s treasures discovered in the valley of the kings in Luxor by Howard Carter in 1922.Transfer to Cairo Station to board your sleeper train to Aswan. Overnight in Aswan.
Day (04) - Cairo Aswan
Arrive Aswan station, upon arrival at Aswan Station you will be transferred to your chosen cruise boat. Embarkation before lunch. After lunch Visit the High Dam this is the world largest rock-filled dam created to control the Nile, we continue to visit the ancient quarries that produced granite for temples, obelisks, shrines and sarcophagi, to see the Unfinished Obelisk, sail on a traditional sailing boat “felucca” around the Kitchener Island to view the Botanical gardens and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan.
Day (05) - Kom Ombo - Esna
Sail onwards to Kom Ombo. On a hill overlooking the Nile, we visit the ruins of a Great temple of Kom Ombo which is dedicated to the falcon-headed god “Haroeris”, and the crocodile god “Sobek”. Continue sailing to Edfu. In Edfu take a horse-drawn carriage through the village to visit the beautifully preserved sandstone temple, and the most outstanding example of a true layout of an Egyptian temple, the temple of Horus built by the Ptolemaic Pharaohs. After our visit we sail to Luxor via Esna and overnight in Esna.
Day (06) - Esna - Luxor
Continue sailing to Luxor. This afternoon visit the Karnak temple was built by Ptolemy III, is a vast complex of several temples and is the most celebrated temple in Egypt by means of small avenue of sphinxes. View the Great Court, the magnificent Hypostyle hall with it 100 massive columns standing 23 metres high. Queen Hatshepsut granite obelisks and the sacred lake guarded by a giant granite scarab. Situated south of the Karnak temple is the Luxor temple, built by Amenophis III and Ramses II to host the festival of Opet. Luxor temple has a magnificent colonnade with its 14 papyrus-headed columns, some 15 meter in height.
Day (07) - Luxor
Disembarkation after breakfast. This morning we start by visiting the magnificent West Bank famous for its royal tombs. Visit includes the Valley of the Kings, and Queens, The temple of Queen Hatshepsut to see the bas-reliefs which illustrate her expedition to the land of Punt. Then visit the Colossi of Memnon
Transfer to Luxor Station to board the train to Cairo. Overnight on board the train.
Day (08) - Luxor - Cairo - Alexandria
Arrive Cairo, upon arrival you will be met at Cairo Station and start your journey by road to Alexandria. Arrive Alexandria and visit the Alexandria National Museum, contains about 1,800 artifacts that describes the history of Alexandria throughout the Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and Modern era. We continue our visit to the well preserved Roman Theatre. The Pompey’s Pillar is located on Alexandria ancient acropolis, and was originally part of the temple Colonnade. The Catacomb will be our next visit. The Catacombs known as Kom Al Shuqafa, merge both Roman, Greek and Egyptian cultural points.The catacomb probably served as a funerary chapel. Continue to visit the fort of Qaitbay was established in 1477 AD by a Mamluk Sultan “Ashraf Safi Al Din Qait bay”. It stands on the tip off Pharos Island where one of the Seven wonders of ancient world‚“Alexandria lighthouse“once stood. The Fort was built by the ruins of Alexandria lighthouse and its, location offer a marvelous view of Alexandria.
Day (09) - Cairo
Kimidar Tours representative will escort you to Cairo international airport for your onward flight home.
